Cem Firat

A native of Istanbul, Turkey, Cem Firat has been involved in sports since he was four years old.  His mother took him to a summer basketball camp in Istanbul in 1975, in which he started playing basketball, and never stopped.  Coach Firat has played in highly competitive leagues and tournaments for his high school, club, and national team in Turkey.   

With a high school degree focusing on physical education, Coach Firat moved to the US at the age of 18, completed his college education at the University of Houston and coached different sports in various high schools and junior highs. 

Currently employed by St. Thomas More Parish School Athletic Department and coaching three different sports and being an excellent role model, Coach Firat still competes in high level of sports and lives a healthy lifestyle. 

Coach Firat is also the co-founder and head coach of Firat Educational Solutions, LLC's Strong Minds, Strong Bodies program.
