Ibrahim C. Firat, MBA

Ibrahim C. Firat is President, Chief Executive Officer, and co-founder of Firat Educational Solutions.

A native of Istanbul, Turkey, Firat earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas (Houston, TX) in 2006.  His area of expertise was 19th and 20th century European History, and he was exceptional with his relentless research and writing skills.  His Magna Cum Laude honor reflected Firat’s passion for learning.

During his studies as an undergraduate, Firat was confronted with an opportunity that would change his professional career forever: History and Mathematics tutoring at the Learning and Writing Center of the University of St. Thomas.  For approximately 3 years, Firat worked with enrolled undergraduate and graduate students (peers), both in one-on-one and group settings, improving their test scores, paper and homework grades, GPAs, and therefore their lives.

Realizing his great potential to succeed in the area of education, an high profile educational and career consultant company in Houston offered him a position as a “Specialist / Tutor.”  This time, the challenge was slightly different: Take a middle school or high school student, and walk him/her through the stages for admission to the college of his/her dreams.  This included not only homework help, academic tutoring, and standardized preparation, but also college admissions essays, and preparation for college interviews.  Firat continuously trained new tutors, and influenced the academic choices and careers of more than 200 students in the 7 years he worked in this company.

In the meantime, Firat maintained his full-time enrollment at the University of St. Thomas, only this time seeking a Master’s degree in Business Administration.  He obtained his graduate degree with a concentration in Marketing in 2008 with Summa Cum Laude honor, and became an honorable member of the International Business Administration Society, Delta Mu Delta.

In March 2008, right before his graduation with an MBA degree, Firat decided to capitalize on his unique skills, experience, passion for learning, teaching, and bringing out the unique potential in the students with whom he would work through his own highly exclusive, individually-catered educational consulting company called Firat Educational Solutions (FES).  He co-founded FES with Josephine Firat, and they soon started to make an impact not only on FES’ own clients and their academic careers, but also on Houston’s educational environment through their memberships in the Greater Houston Partnership’s Education Committee. Firat’s new strategic plan is to go beyond the borders of the United States, and bring intelligent, young, foreign minds to study in the most selective schools in the United States, and contribute to the U.S.’ unique diversity, and economy.

Firat is a member of Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), Cambridge’s Who’s Who Among Executives, and currently teaches Business Administration, Marketing, and Supervision classes at the Houston Community College System.

Firat was born in 1983.
