Josephine G. Firat, MBA/MIB

Josephine Firat is the Executive Vice President, and co-founder of Firat Educational Solutions.

Firat earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas (Houston, TX).  Her major was in Management, and she also received a minor in Psychology. She graduated Cum Laude in 2004.  She continued her studies at the University of St. Thomas by pursuing her Master’s of Business Administration.  She graduated with her MBA in 2006 with a concentration in Finance and Marketing.

Firat started her career at the age of 16 at H.E.Butt Grocery Company, where she worked her way up to a store manager position at 18 years old.  She worked full time as she went to school full time until December 2006, when she decided to leave HEB to pursue her own business. Firat and her cousin started Executive Brand LLC in January of 2007. 

At Executive Brand LLC, Firat and her cousin designed and branded a new umbrella called the UZO Umbrella.  They are currently working to release the umbrella to the world market in 2011.

After graduating with her MBA, Firat was approached by the Chair of the Business Administration Department at Houston Community College to teach college students.  Firat has been teaching at HCC since 2006, including classes in Introduction to Business, Marketing, Advertising, Human Resources, Management, International Business and Small Business Management. Realizing that she loves education, Firat co-founded Firat Educational Solutions with Ibrahim Firat.

Firat graduated with an MIB (Master’s in International Business) in May 2009.
